Like everyone I am giving you an idea with the pride about my home village Chithari. A beautiful village in Kasaragod district of Kerala state in India, which carries lots of sweet memories and unknown emotions, that is Chithari, that small village, small streets- Lovely and honest people with their unique speech, dressing, innocence and culture, what more? It’s like pure like rain.
My beautiful village Chithari the beauty of village is ineffable. It is a pretty place and coastal village. It is very attractive. Chithari is located seven kilometers away from Kasaragod town, 3 kilometers away from Kanhangad city and five kilometers away from tourist spot- Bekal Fort. The word Chithari means "Surrounded by River" (chuttum Arru) chuttum means Around and Arrum means River. It is fully surrounded by its three parts by Chithari river. This River originates from eastern hills and flows to Arabian sea. This River gives alive atmosphere to the village a stately pleasure Dome- decree. Even its population status is very less with 3308 families and the 16074 only. It is a coastal area with beautiful sand beaches.
The climate of Chittari generous and tropical, salubrious and delightful. The climate of village is Coppen-Geger type. The annual average temperature of chittari only 27.2*C. This makes a genial temperate climate. Rainfall usually occurs 3817 millimeters driest month according to climate variation is January. Heavy rainfall mostly occurs during the month of July. The climate is generally warm and good makes the life of people healthy and propitious. Sand beaches also provide way for good climate.
Like every village people Chithari village people are very distinctive in their character. They are notifiable as they show their best behavior. They are very distinctive in their personal appearance. They are very affectionate and also short-tempered because of their charismatic character many tourists are attractive towards the village. The ladies are most beautiful, fair- complexion and also very strict in their religious beliefs. The ladies are highly strict in cleanliness and they usually keep their home surrounding very clean. It is highly notable.
Even Chithari is natural scenic admiral place. Our Chithari legs behind too much in the field of education. peoples are academically backward. This is mainly because even in the early period of childhood girls tend to get marry. These circumstances lead to the demotion of education to the people of Chittari. But now, at present the situation changes, the attitude of people towards education also changes. Now Government, panchayiths and many authorities are working together for the upliftment of education. The result of qualification are very much projected in the society now. But besides this there is a lot of distance to be covered in this regard. the rate of literacy in Chittari village is increasing now.
Chithari is an agro ecology village. At the time of formation of Ajanur Panchayath most of the people depend on agriculture for their livelihood. They lived by doing agri business but the influence of business, and development of roads, factories destroyed the agricultural sector. it shows negative influence on agriculture and benefits from agriculture also reduced. people find difficult to satisfy their livings with the income from agriculture.
This made the people to migrate to gulf. Almost all youth people now working in gulf countries especially in UAE. This Gulf migration drastic change to the people life of Chithari. Modernity come up contemporary model arise. This Gulf money cause upliftment to the standard of living of people agriculture. Business, construction contracting are other source least person are working in Government service. This shows the development of Chithari in the field of education.
Chithari is the awesome place not only beneficial with its natural scenic beauty, communal harmony. But also sufficient with its arts and sports club. Large areas are occupied by the Arts and sports club, this the is the area where the youth find various entertainment, games, etc. This type of clubs provides a great way for the unity communal harmony. In various clubs members play together, teams of various clubs compete each other. But Chittari people take every sport as spirit of sports and they unite each other without any jealous or quarrel. Every direction of our fabulous Chithari are flittering and flourished with bestowed Arts and Sports club.
Green star Arts and Sports club, United Arts and sports club and Haseena Arts and Sports club in are some among them.
Almost all religious people marked by agreement in feeling, attitude or action, a harmonious group, forming a pleasingly consistent whole, congruous, harmonious groups. Chithari is a society where individual aspire to insured harmony and integration among all levels- individuals family, society and nature. Chithari is a beautiful place with full of coconut, hills and rivers and also it is the place where people of different religious, cast, greed’s, and different backgrounds live together in the society with love, and peace among them. This makes us to conclude that this village is the birth place of peace and harmony and the "Garden with lot of different colored flowers".
All Religious Islam, Hindu, & Christian live side by side each influencing and getting influenced by the secular way of life. Hike our Indian constitution supports and encourage the chithari shows a great epitome to the term, "Secularism". There are many ways to prove the religious harmony of " Chithari". The Temples & Mosques are situated very near to near areas. All the people are indulging in each and every religion belief. Hydrous Juma Masjid, Modinudeer Juma Masjid, Khiler juma masjid, chamundukuunu Vishnu temple are located within are area of 3 Km. From the time of formation of Chithari itself, any communal riot or dispute, not even heard for Chithari peoples. All peoples wholeheartedly participate in all festivals and also in everyone's mourn and sorrows.
Onam which is the most significant harvest festival. During this festival observance is centered on worship, music, dance, sports, boat races etc. It is mainly for the commemoration of King Mahabali. Vishu is the New Year celebrations for Malaya lees. peoples observance by preparing vishukani, bursting crackers etc..EID-Ul-Adha is a Muslim festival that basically marks at the end of hajj or piligri mage to Makkah. This festival reveals the sacrifice of faith Abraham and devotion to Allah.
Eid-Al-Fitr festival of breaking the fast. it marks at the end of Ramadan and blowout the first day of Shawwal. Miladi-Sheriff commemorates the birth of Prophet Mohammad.
Comparing to other religions Christians are less in number even all enthusiastically participate in Christmas merrymaking festival which is the shindy party for the birthday of Jesus Christ.
In short our Awesome Chittari can also be renowed as unity place and land of Festivals. All people clung to each other in celebration of occasion. In short Chittari village is a fly free and happy beyond every festivals and throughout the year the celebrations the never ends.
